Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies GetStopover uses, why, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
2. How we use cookies
GetStopover itself does not set any first-party tracking or advertising cookies. We use cookies only via the third-party services listed below, and only when those services are enabled.
We do not run our own ad network, we don’t profile users for retargeting, and we don’t share cookie-derived data with advertisers.
3. Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to load and function. Set by our hosting provider (Vercel) for routing, security, and load-balancing. These cannot be turned off.
Performance / analytics
Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Set only if Google Analytics is enabled on the site. Plausible (also analytics) explicitly does not set cookies.
Affiliate tracking
Set when you click outbound links to airline, hotel, or tour partners, so commission can be attributed to GetStopover. Without these we don’t earn the commission that keeps the site free.
Functional
Remember your preferences (e.g. preferred currency or passport selection). Today these are stored in URL parameters or short-lived localStorage, not as cookies.
5. Third-party cookies
When you click an outbound affiliate link (for example, “Search Flights” or “Browse Hotels”), you leave GetStopover and land on a partner’s site (Travelpayouts/Aviasales, Booking.com, Viator, CJ Affiliate, or an airline). Those partners set their own cookies on their domains, governed by their own cookie and privacy policies.
We have no visibility into or control over partner cookies. Refer to each partner’s policy for the details.
6. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings — every modern browser lets you block, delete, or be prompted before cookies are stored. See Section 7 for direct links.
- Tracking protection — private/incognito mode and built-in tracking protection (Safari, Firefox, Brave) block most third-party cookies by default.
- Skip the affiliate redirect — if you don’t want affiliate cookies set, copy the airline’s name and visit their site directly instead of clicking our affiliate link. (We’ll earn nothing, but the choice is yours.)
- Opt out of Google Analytics — install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on.
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site from working.

8. Changes to this policy
If our use of cookies changes — for example, if we enable a new analytics provider — we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
